Dubai was established by Al Abu Falasa Clan in the early nineteenth century. In 1892, an Exclusive Agreement was done and Dubai came into the protection of United Kingdom to protect it from the attacks of the Ottoman Empire. Dubai was very well known for pearl exports during 1930 and later pearl industry was destroyed during the World War I. Telephone, electricity services and airport were introduced in Dubai during the shifting of administrative office to Dubai from Sharjah. Oil was invented in Dubai in 1966. At present, Dubai is the famous state of United Arab Emirates and is one among the seven emirates.

The culture of Dubai is very colorful and radiant comprising of Dubai International Film Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises and Dubai Shopping Festivals. The culture also consists of great number of foreign travelers including Indians, Persians, and Baluchis that have made contribution to the city's cultural heritage. Dubai is well known for its nightlife, clubs, and bars.

Dubai is an attractive place for travelers and has many colorful and attractive places to visit. Etihad Airways, Air India Express, Air France, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Kuwait Airways provide very cheap air fares to visit Dubai during the festive season.  Few airlines provide special offers for student travel. Dubai's food, accommodation and travel makes it an ideal destination for frugal travelers.

 

Passport and Visa requirements for US Citizens

 

US citizens are required to present a valid US Passport that has at least one blank visa page and should not expire within six months of the last day you are in the UAE. US citizens are not required to obtain a visa in advance of travel to United Arab Emirates. A visa is available upon entry for stays of less than 30 days.
